“The 50th Ward is the most diverse and wonderful neighborhood in the City of Chicago. There is nowhere else where you can visit an Indian restaurant, a Kosher bakery, and a Muslim bookstore all within a few blocks. If you live here, you know how great it is. If you don’t, come on up and see what the 50th Ward has to offer!”

Our neighborhood is currently experiencing multiple power outages due to the severe storm. I spoke with ComEd, who confirmed that there are currently 2,300 customers without power across the 50th Ward.
ComEd is aware of the local outages and is working to assess the damage and begin repairs. I will continue to work with ComEd to make sure power is restored across our neighborhood as quickly as possible.

Crews will be in the 50th Ward soon beginning our yearly infrastructure work. I am happy to report that many local streets are being completely resurfaced through my Aldermanic Menu funding. We will also be installing new, pedestrian-friendly piggyback streetlights on multiple blocks.
My staff went out to all of the blocks where construction is beginning soon and left notices so residents know what to expect.
