Stretching along Kedzie Avenue, just north of Touhy Avenue, North Boundary Park is a 2.21-acre passive park located at the northern boundary of Chicago. The Chicago Park District began leasing this park property from the City of Chicago in 2010. Prior to that, the North Boundary Home Owners League (NBHOL) maintained the stretch of green space at its own expense. For years, the organization had paid private landscape companies for spring clean-ups, fall clean-ups and mowing during the growing seasons for many years. As the green space serves as the western border of the NBHOL neighborhood and the city limits, organization has always upheld that the park serves as the gateway, providing visitors with “first impression” of the neighborhood.

Because of the park’s location and its importance to the surrounding community, the Chicago Park District Board of Commissioners named the site North Boundary Park in 2014.
